He headed down to the tree where they used to sit and talk away the summer evenings. The spot that he headed to bore no outward differences from any other spot under a tree near the river, but he knew the spot in his heart. When he reached it, he sank slowly to his knees.
He returned to this spot when he needed it, when the time was right. "My love," he spoke. "My love, I do not know how much longer I can go on. I long to be with you once more. It has been so long... so very, very long. My strength is wearing out. I am tired, and wish to come home."
He sighed, then, closing his eyes and bowing his head. A moment later, he visibly gathered his will and his determination. His head came up, his eyes showing renewed focus over the exhaustion lying below.

There once was a kingdom named Glad. The King of Glad had a son, Prince Roman. The King loved his son, but he was worried that Prince Roman would not have the people's love, because he had never proven himself. Glad had been at peace longer than Prince Roman had been alive. Come to think of it, nothing spectacular had happened since the King had defeated a particularly nasty troll that had been scaring the peasants, and that had been over 20 years ago!
The King had been thinking about this for a long time, and he just couldn't decide what to do. Then, one autumn day, something came up. "Your Majesty, Your Majesty!" The Captain of the guard came running in and skidded to a halt, bowing quickly. "A dragon has been sighted over the kingdom! All of the peasants are afraid! We must do something quickly!"

Sierra was very excited. Today she was going to the beach with her family!
Sierra loved the beach... there was sand to play with, shells to collect, and sometimes she went out in the water with Daddy. After they went out into the water, they would go back and see Mommy.
Sierra helped to gather the things for the beach. She got dressed in her swimsuit, helped carry the towels out to the car, and picked a snack (just in case she got hungry). Finally, everything was ready, and it was time to go!

There once was a kitten named Sierra. She loved to play, but she also loved going to school, where she was in Kittengarten, or as people call it, Kindergarten.
One day, when she was in school, the teacher talked about butterflies. She told the class about how they start out as worm-like caterpillars before becoming the flying creatures that little kittens find so fascinating.
Sierra thought about butterflies all that day while she was at school. Then school was over, and it was time for her to go home.

Once upon a time, in a far away kingdom, the King decided that his son, Prince Bartholomew, needed to get out and experience the kingdom outside of the capital. He believed that Prince Bartholomew needed to learn how the kingdom looked from the point of view of the people who lived there.
The King called the Prince to him, to tell him of his new quest. "My son," the King said, "You will go out in disguise as a simple knight for the next year and explore the kingdom. This will help you to understand the people that you will one day rule."
"Yes, father." Prince Bartholomew replied. He immediately started preparing.

Sierra's family loved to go to the beach. It was fun, it was relaxing, and it was great family time. Sometimes they would play in the water, sometimes they would build sand castles, and sometimes they would just lay on the beach towels and relax. But there was one thing that Sierra loved to do at the beach more than anything else... hunting for shells with Daddy!
Sierra, Mommy, and Daddy had been at the beach for a while. Sierra and Daddy had already played in the water, and had built a castle. Mommy and Daddy were relaxing on the beach towels when Sierra came up from trying to build another castle and tugged on Daddy's hand.

The Prince of Whales had always lived as a member of the Royal family. This meant that there was always someone around, watching him.
He never got to do anything fun! Well, sure, he had tons of toys, and games, and family servants who would play them with him, and sometimes his dad, the Whale King, would play, too, but that didn't count, right? Whenever he asked to do something that was REAL fun, he was always told no, he wasn't big enough to do that, or it wasn't something that a Prince should do.
He wanted to go out, to go on an adventure! He didn't know exactly what that adventure would be, but he wanted to have one! All of the heroes in his books had them!
